Beginner Blogger Intro

I've decided to start blogging. Maybe. I figure I'll use a +/- system to rate my day, and I'll update only when something interesting or catastrophic occurs, or if I think of something terribly witty. I probably won't write in full sentences, but instead I'll opt for a Bridget Jones-esque narration of events.

Here are 2013's highlights:
+ Gallbladder removed after years of annoyance
--- Six degrees of complications: sphincter of Oddi dysfunction, herniated disc, piriformis syndrome with sciatica, so on and so forth
+/- Physical therapy to address decondition due to illness - now I exercise daily

Wow, last year left much to be desired. Before becoming ill I had aspirations of grad school and a future in cognitive rehab, but now I'm not so sure. This year my goal is to do something everyday to improve my life. Whether it's getting an MRI or writing a blog post, I want to start living my life again.

Hmmm, what else? Any given day you can find me slaughtering Nazi Zombies in Call of Duty, digging in Minecraft, and frolicking around Skyrim. Also, my current project is scanning photo negatives and making digital photo albums. Oh, and watching Dexter with equal parts fascination and horror. Basically, nothing remotely productive.

I've been procrastinating re: writing this post. My motivation: the PowerBeats by Dre giveaway! Here are my questions (comment once daily!)

BLOGGERS: Is there some sort of secret Fight Club rule about blogging? How do I get sponsors? How do I communicate with companies? What about earning money? Tell me everything you can. What posts are your favorite to write?

NON-BLOGGERS: What keeps you coming back to a blog? What convinces you so follow a blogger? What types of posts do you like reading - fashion, advice, reviews? Lots of pictures, lots of text?

Please feel free to ask me questions, too!

  1. I like a good mix between photos and text. Too many words seem to drag on a post.

  12. I'm a non-blogger. I enjoy giveaways but they must be easy to enter and not cluttered to the eye. I follow if I'm forced to but I -ENJOY- following blogs that have a fair amount of photos, an amusing writing style and content that isn't just "filler" - it has to mean something.

  15. Of course everyone loves the giveaways.. But what I like most is there actual, genuine interaction with me, when they can. Reminding us that there is an actual person there and not just some robot.
